Ashley Todd, Little Faker
Ashley Todd, Little Faker

Oh No She Di-int! Oh Yes She Did! She faked a wild story that threatened to change the course of an election. Little faker Ashley Todd got on the Drudge Report after she blamed a 6 foot 4 black man for robbing and assaulting her in a most unusual way. McCain campaign volunteer Ashley Todd of Texas told police that not only was she mugged at an ATM in Pittsburgh, but after the big black scary mugger saw her John McCain bumper sticker he went berserk and carved a backwards “B” (B for buffoon?) on her cheek.

Drudgereport.com flashed the story. Then the Fox News picked up the story, with their VP of news blogging this:

If Ms. Todd’s allegations are proven accurate, some voters may revisit their support for Senator  Obama, not because they are racists (with due respect to Rep. John Murtha), but because they suddenly feel they do not know enough about the Democratic nominee.

If the incident turns out to be a hoax, Senator McCain’s quest for the presidency is over, forever linked to race-baiting.

For Pittsburgh, a city that has done so much to shape American history over the centuries, another moment of truth is at hand.

And then the rest of the media piled onto the story. Right Wing (nut) bloggers were talking about how this could change the election and get McCain into the (not for long) White House. John McCain and Sarah Palin even called her family to give them their condolences. Just like Joe the Plumber, she was on her way to being a national hero.

There is only one problem: it wasn’t true. None of it.  Especially the part about the mugger carving the backwards B on her cheek, which Ashley now says she cannot seem to remember how it got there.  Believe me, when someone carves an initial on your face, you tend to remember it.  And the funny part is that Ashleys Twitter page that mocks Acorn and dispells any notion that she is a McCain campaign worker  may now go down in history as the Twit that cost John McCain the election.

Police: McCain volunteer made up robbery story-_AP

A McCain campaign volunteer made up a story of being robbed, pinned to the ground and having the letter “B” scratched on her face in a politically inspired attack, police said Friday.

Ashley Todd, 20-year-old college student from College Station, Texas, admitted Friday that the story was false and was being charged with making a false report to police, said Maurita Bryant, the assistant chief of the police department’s investigations division. Police doubted her story from the start, Bryant said.

Todd, who is white, told police she was attacked by a 6-foot-4 black man Wednesday night.

She now can’t explain why she invented the story, Bryant said. Todd also told police she believes she cut the backward “B” onto her own cheek, but did not provide an explanation of how or why, Bryant said.

Maybe she should have just carved a big fat “L” in her forehead instead. Loser.
